ROSEBORO — In a little over a month from now the downtown of Roseboro will be packed with visitors, vendors, music and more, as the town celebrates BloomFest.

After a two year hiatus due to COVID19, BloomFest is returning April 30 with fun for the whole family. Now in its third year, the event has grown, transitioning into a festival with a musical evening and adding in a beer garden.

In addition to that there will be food trucks, vendors, entertainment and children’s activities, such as pony rides, bouncy houses and Mobile Z Gaming.

The town’s website states that “this one-day festival is packed with lots of family fun, everything from art, bouncy houses, pony rides, and train rides for the children to vendors, Batmobile, gaming, and a variety of entertainment like dancing, gospel performances from First Missionary Baptist Church and the Ollis Family, for teens and adults. Food vendors will be onsite offering everything from the famous funnel cake to BBQ and anything in-between.”

The event is expected to kick off at 10 a.m., with vendors around until 4. From there the music will be kicking off, and Midway’s “The Ollis Family” will be their headliner. They are a gospel group.

Additionally the town expects “the Coharie Tribal Dance Group, Merari, First Missionary Choir, Chad Thompson, Carolina Dance Company and more will be performing on stage throughout the day”.

Starting at 5 p.m. “The Pizazz Band” will be playing in the park.

Both sponsorship and vendor opportunities are closed for the event, and food truck spaces are full as well. A brick path as part of the Mountain to Sea Trail is expected to be completed in time for the event.
